101 South is headed by electronic musician and composer Kurt Howes who has worked previously with many leading dance music acts throughout the 90’s and beyond.

Classically trained, Kurt enjoys the composition challenge of making each piece unique and not conforming to any specific genre. When asked what’s important in a piece? “The space, the parts you leave out to let it breathe. It’s very important to me not to overcrowd the sonic pallet. I also like to explore unusual instrumental partners, the sound of the unexpected. Lofi is also a current trend and I love bringing elements of this approach to add that unexpected vibe.”
